Criollo Collection

Criollo talks about two important elements in the agricultural cosmovision of the Mayan culture: corn and its guardians, the Aluxes. In ancient times, these beings were represented in clay and were worshipped for the protection of the cornfield. The containers seek to reinterpret the rite, paying tribute to the corn.

The crema maya stone appears of soft and smooth optic, which when touched feels robust and firm. The imperfection of the surface not only reflects the artisan’s freehand carving pulse, but also attests to the level of technical skill required.

The collection pretends serenity, through its gentle strokes and faded shades, however, it surprises by its rigidity and weight when held.
